The Midas Group was founded in 1968 and was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in May 1986.
The Group consists of Parts Incorporated Africa, the national hub and spoke distribution business, NAPA, the marketing co-operative to the members of leading local brands, and the franchises Midas, Motolek, ADCO and CBS that add value to the retail sector.
Midas continues to invest in its logistics capabilities and provides logistic solutions encompassing physical distribution, electronic procurement, selling, financial and inventory management.
In 2002 management aquaired the Group in a leveraged buyout (LBO) from the previous shareholders. In 2003, as Phase II of the LBO, the franchise members were introduced as shareholders together with our Broad Based Black Empowered partners Jomo Sono and Mediro Industrial Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
In 2005 General Motors was introduced as value-adding and procurement partners.
