Charlize Theron always gets the best costars, doesn’t she? In the last year, she’s starred or signed on opposite Will Smith, Viggo Mortensen, and Mark Wahlberg. Now it looks like she can add Tom Cruise to the glittering list. According to Variety, she’s in talks to star opposite Cruise in “The Tourist,� Bharat Nalluri’s remake of the 2005 French thriller “Anthony Zimmer.�

Theron will play a female Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in an attempt to discover the location of an elusive criminal, with whom she once had a torrid love affair. It’s not clear whether Cruise will play the tourist, or the criminal — but considering which role is in the title, we can probably guess who he is playing. Full story »

Actress Charlize Theron will face a New York trial over allegations she reneged on a contract with a designer watch manufacturer, a judge has ruled.

A U.S. District Court judge ruled that despite attempts by Theron to have the suit dismissed, the litigation filed by the Swiss watch manufacturer Raymond Weil will go to trial this month, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

The suit alleges Theron violated her advertising campaign contract to wear time pieces created by the Swiss company at all times by wearing a watch made by another manufacturer.

The Daily News said Raymond Weil is seeking $20 million from the popular actress, who won a Best Actress Academy Award for the movie “Monster.”

The Oscar-winning actress not only was paid $3 million to endorse a Swiss watch, but she has banked six figures to wear a luxury jewelry firm’s baubles to the Academy Awards and a British awards show, and has been lavished with valuable gifts from Cartier. The 33-year-old star’s deals were detailed yesterday in a judicial decision filed in U.S. District Court in New York, where Theron is being sued for breaching a contract with Raymond Weil, the high-end watch manufacturer.
